Owner’s Protective Liability (OCP)

This is a separate policy that the contractor purchases in the name of the owner to protect the owner against liability related to a specific project. It covers vicarious liability the owner may incur because of the contractor’s ongoing activities on the jobsite and it protects them from any alleged failure to supervise the project. The OCP provides separate limits of insurance to the owner as well as immediate defense. These policies are sometimes required by contract.
