Owner’s Protective Liability (OCP)
This is a separate policy that the contractor purchases in the name of the owner that provides coverage for liability related to a specific project. It typically covers vicarious liability the owner may incur because of the contractor’s ongoing activities on the jobsite and it can help provide coverage for claims alleging failure to supervise the project. The OCP provides separate limits of insurance to the owner as well as immediate defense. These policies are sometimes required by contract.
