POLLUTION LIABILITY

This policy covers contamination of the land, air or water as a result of a contractor's operations.  Pollution Liability is frequently excluded from General Liability policies, although limited coverage is often available if the pollution incident is sudden and accidental, and the contractor did not bring the pollutant to the site.  Examples of recent claims we have seen involve fumes from a floor sealant, fumes from generators, sheetrock dust, mold/mildew in A/C systems and spreading of contaminated soils.

A separate Pollution Liability policy is the best way to protect against such claims, as well as against the more obvious pollutants, such as asbestos or lead.
