BUILDER'S RISK During the course of construction, there is an exposure to direct property loss involving equipment and materials to be installed, and work already put in place. Property damage can result from perils such as fire and windstorm, and builder's risk insurance is designed to cover these risks of direct property damage to property under construction. Builder's risk insurance is normally purchased by either the owner or the general contractor and is designed to insure virtually all property which has been or is to be incorporated into the project. The coverage usually remains in effect until the entire job is completed. Extra coverages included are:
